The Grand Highlander has a standard Secondary Collision Brake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Vistiq doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Both the Grand Highlander and the Vistiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors, available all wheel drive and around view monitors.

Toyota pays for scheduled maintenance on the Grand Highlander for 2 years and 25000 miles. Toyota will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Cadillac only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Vistiq.

There are over 2 times as many Toyota dealers as there are Cadillac dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Grand Highlander’s warranty.

The Grand Highlander has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Vistiq; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For better maneuverability, the Grand Highlander’s turning circle is .1 feet tighter than the Vistiq Premium Luxury/Platinum’s (38.1 feet vs. 38.2 feet). The Grand Highlander’s turning circle is 2.9 feet tighter than the Vistiq’s (38.1 feet vs. 41 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Grand Highlander has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Vistiq (8 vs. 7.2 inches), allowing the Grand Highlander to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Toyota Grand Highlander may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1400 to 2050 pounds less than the Cadillac Vistiq.

The Grand Highlander is 4.2 inches shorter than the Vistiq, making the Grand Highlander easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Grand Highlander offers optional seating for 8 passengers; the Vistiq can only carry up to 7.

The Grand Highlander has 7.7 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Vistiq (153.3 vs. 145.6).

The Grand Highlander has .6 inches more front headroom, 1.2 inches more rear headroom, 2.9 inches more third row legroom, 4.6 inches more third row hip room and 3.2 inches more third row shoulder room than the Vistiq.

Standard Trailer Sway Control (TSC) on the Grand Highlander uses the Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Vistiq doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Vistiq’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Grand Highlander Platinum’s standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

The Grand Highlander Limited/Platinum/Nightshade has standard front air conditioned seats and the Grand Highlander Platinum also has them in the second row. This keeps the passengers comfortable and takes the sting out of hot seats in summer. The Vistiq doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats for the second row.

The Grand Highlander is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Vistiq doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
