Toyota pays for scheduled maintenance on the Corolla Cross for 1 year and 15000 miles longer than Lexus pays for maintenance for the UX Series (2/25000 vs. 1/10,000).
There are over 5 times as many Toyota dealers as there are Lexus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Corolla Cross’ warranty.
Reliability
From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Toyota vehicles are more reliable than Lexus vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Toyota second in reliability. Lexus is ranked third.
Fuel Economy and Range
The Corolla Cross FWD’s standard fuel tank has 1.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the UX Series Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (12.4 vs. 10.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.
Tires and Wheels
The Corolla Cross has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the UX Series; it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed.
Passenger Space
The Corolla Cross has 2.2 inches more front headroom, .8 inches more front legroom and 2.8 inches more rear headroom than the UX Series.
Cargo Capacity
The Corolla Cross has a much larger cargo volume than the UX Series (25.5 vs. 17.2 cubic feet).
